The first race of the 2016 Australian Production Car Series has hosted plenty of frenetic racing amid challenging weather conditions, with a number of outright race leaders and class battles unfolding.
 

This weekend’s opener to the 2016 Australian Production Car Series features no less than four fast femmes amongst the 22-car/46 driver strong entry list.

Grant Sherrin has topped qualifying for tomorrow’s Australian Production Car Series Island Four Hour – the 2016 season opener - after setting the fastest time this afternoon.

The 2016 Australian Production Car Series kicks off at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit this weekend (May 27-28). Qualifying for the APCS ‘Island Four Hour’ will be held on Friday afternoon following three practice sessions, before four hours of racing are held around the picturesque seaside Victorian venue on Saturday.

The Australian Production Car Series and PSC Insurance Brokers are pleased to announce a new partnership as the Series prepares for its first round of 2016 later this week (May 27-28) at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

Kiwi V8 Supercar driver Andre Heimgartner endured a tough weekend at the Woodstock Winton SuperSprint at Winton Motor Raceway this weekend.  

Following further development of his new engine, Andre Heimgartner was looking forward to applying some new-found speed at Barbagallo Raceway’s Woodstock SuperSprint at the weekend – unfortunately, the racing gods had other ideas.

When the Australian Production Car Series hits the Phillip Island Grand prix Circuit across May 27-29 for its first round of the year, it will do so with not one, but two ‘fly in-fly out’ racers taking part.

The recent Queensland Raceway 300 was a case of ‘oh so close, but oh so far’ for the Sherrin Racing outfit. The team was enjoying a comfortable lead aboard the #18 Sherrin Racing BMW135i of brothers Iain and Grant Sherrin with just 10 laps to go, when a brake issue saw them into the turn three sand trap and out of the race. Earlier, the #19 Sherrin Racing entry of Michael Sherrin and David Ayres was forced to retire early due to visibility issues.

With entries still open, the Australian Production Car Series already has 21 entrants secured for its season opening Island Four Hour at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit later this month (May 27-29).

Lauren Gray Motorsport has confirmed what is believed to be the youngest ever entry for the Australian Production Car Series, with their Toyota Echo to be steered by 15 year old Liam Thompson and 16 year old Ellexandra Best at Phillip Island across May 27-29.
